3-Day Hluhluwe and Emdoneni Safari from Durban
Combine an African Big 5 safari with a guided wild cat experience on this three day, two night wildlife adventure from Durban. The itinerary brings together a St Lucia estuary cruise, a stay at Emdoneni Cheetah Lodge and extensive game viewing in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park.
Your first day begins with collection from Durban and a journey along the KwaZulu-Natal coast. Visit St Lucia for a boat cruise on the estuary, with opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles and birdlife. Continue to Emdoneni Cheetah Lodge, where you will enjoy a guided cat experience and dinner.
On the second day, head into Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park for a full day of game drives. Your guide will search for Africa’s Big Five while helping you discover the park’s varied wildlife and landscapes. Later, travel to Hilltop Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
The final morning offers another opportunity for game viewing before you return to Durban.
Your itinerary
Day 1: St Lucia and Emdoneni
Travel along the coast to St Lucia for a boat cruise to see hippos, crocodiles and birds. Game drive in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, then check in at Emdoneni Cheetah Lodge for a cat feeding and interaction session and dinner.
Day 2: A full day for the Big 5
Early breakfast, then full-day game drives in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park looking for the Big 5. Check in at Hilltop Camp, enjoy an afternoon game drive and dinner. Night drives are available at an extra cost.
Day 3: Back to Durban
Breakfast at Hilltop Camp and a half-day morning game drive, then the drive back to Durban.
An open-vehicle drive of 3 hours can be added on request for R500 per person. This safari is also available as 2 days and 1 night, or longer.
